4) Gift of Learning

Most people go through life now knowing how to learn. When people read a book or go to school, they don't appreciate the books or the learning because they take them for granted. Jason had to go to a remote place where villagers wait for books. In the areas where books and learning are not taken for granted, people wait for books and look forward to learning new things like there is no tomorrow.

5) Gift of Problems

Red Stevens said in his recording to Jason that "You don't begin to live when you have lost everything." Jason 's possessions were taken from him leaving him penniless and homeless. He went to his mother's house to seek shelter but she said no because if she let him in she would be denied her inheritance. Being a selfish mother, he let Jason be homeless. When people take luxury and physical things for granted, they forget the value of those things. You won't learn how to solve problems until you have the problems to solve that happen to you.

6) Gift of Family

Everyone needs a family. In Jason's case, he was so messed up because his family was very selfish. Everyone was there for money and take money for granted. No one had real love for anyone and no one was thankful for anything. In the movie the Ultimate Gift, Jason got his family together for thanksgiving and wanted to go round the table for everyone to say something about what they are thankful for. Everyone broke out laughing.

Emily, Jason's only real friend, meant to her mom more than his own family member has ever meant to one another. Jason learned about Emily's family and become part of that family.

7) Gift of Laughers

Laughing makes people happy. Unfortunately when you work hard and think unhappy thought you don't laugh. Jason grew up with all the money he could ever spent, yet he did not have a real friend or family. As a result, even at parties, Jason did not laugh. When people are not happy, they find joy in laughing at others, making fun of others, making fun of the world, complaining, annoying others, taking drugs, drinking, etc. You may hear occasional laughers but not the same kind you would hear from kids at Disneyland. In the remote place that Jason had to visit, he finally laughed for the first time in years.

8) Gift of Dreams

Red Stevens said to Jason:

"You need to be free to dream. You need to come up with a dream and act on it."

That was Jason's semi final test for his Ultimate Gift. However, Jason did not have his own dream at the time but, after talking to Emily, he knew that he could help others fulfill theirs. He began planning to build Emily Home in memory of Emily, the little girl who showed him so much about life and love.
