The Shape of Things
Adam changed everything about himself, not just because Evelyn wanted him to but because all the changes were for the better. For example, he lost weight and became more healthy, he changed his hair style because everyone else kept commenting on how better he looked, and so on. One thing he wasn't sure about was when Evelyn suggested that he got a nose job. However, she convinced him that it wouldn't hurt and that she had plenty of plastic surgeries herself and her nose also had a nose job. Because Adam loved Evelyn he decided to go for it but was so embarrassed when his friend asked about his nose that he lied and said he fell and broke his nose instead of him going for a nose job.

By the end of the movie, Adam was very much in love with Evelyn and he proposed 2 days before her art exhibition. He gave her his grandmother's diamond ring as an engagement ring. Evelyn had not given Adam an answer but promised to give one by the time the exhibition was over.
In Evelyn's art exhibition, she revealed the shocking truth that for the past 17 weeks she had been working on a project of manipulation and Adam was her subject. She revealed that she used Adam like a lab rat and used the power of manipulation to change him and then observe how much he would change and how far he would go. Nothing she told Adam was true. Adam's heart was broken in pieces.
Needless to say no one came to see her art exhibition after the opening day. But Evelyn was not upset, sorry or ashamed in any way. She thinks manipulation is art and it doesn't matter how much someone is hurt because of her manipulation. There was no way she could feel sorry for what she had done. Adam trusted her and it was his fault for doing so. She did not ask him to trust her. She did not ask him to do anything. He did it with his own free will and for that she was guilt free.
